The museum is located right next to the Highland Light. The building was once a summer resort hotel which was built in 1907. We have exhibits that highlight Truro and the Lower Cape’s history including Shipwrecks and Native Americans. We offer many free events throughout the summer which includes our Wednesday evening talks and concerts.

We have the largest fleet in Provincetown with 527 bikes which includes 112 ebikes. We are renting the best bikes at the lowest cost and we offer free parking for daily renters on a first come first serve basis.

Bike Shack Rentals include: a bike of your choice, a map (of Province Lands Bike Trails which covers the best trails in the USA), lock, helmet, basket, rear rack, front and rear lights. Every BIKE SHACK rental bike is inspected before being issued to the customer and when necessary re-tuned on return guaranteeing flawless performance. No repairs are too big or too small. We stock a variety of tubes, tires, wheels, many bicycles parts and accessories. If we don’t have the part we can order it and have it within 2-3 days. We sell and rent Giant & Avocado ebikes which are the best ebikes on the market today. We rent Mountain Bikes, Comfort Hybrid Bikes, Beach Cruisers, Off Road, On Road, Child Trailers, Dog Trailers, Tag-Alongs, in various sizes for adults & children. Sailing program for children ages 8 – 14. We provide low-cost, affordable instruction in sailing and sailboat racing in a fun and safe environment to children in Provincetown and Truro.

The West End Racing Children’s Community Sailing (WERCCS) non-profit organization offers children’s sailing program for ages 8-14 providing lessons and equipment for a seasonal registration fee of $100.

The program is open to both residents and visitors from Provincetown and Truro. There will be a program instructor and assistant instructors on duty at all times. Regular hours are 9-noon and 1-4 pm weekdays in July and August varying with the weather and tides.

Children must be able to swim unassisted for a distance of 100 feet. Parents/guardians must register children in person at the WERCCS.

The Pilgrim Monument commemorates the first landing of the Mayflower Pilgrims in 1620 in Provincetown Harbor where they wrote and signed the Mayflower Compact, the first written declaration of a democratic commonwealth.

At 252-feet, 7.5 inches tall and 353 feet above sea level, it is the tallest all-granite structure in the U.S. and includes 60 ramps and 116 steps.

The Monument is designed to resemble Torre Del Mangia, a 14th century tower in Siena, Italy, and is of the Italian Renaissance order of architecture.

The Museum collects, preserves, interprets, researches, exhibits, and publishes archival historical materials and exhibit materials depicting important events of Provincetown history.

Two houses, Keeper’s house and Whistle house, located within the Cape Cod National Seashore. The Race Point properties are maintained by the Cape Cod Chapter of the American Lighthouse Foundation. The Cape Cod Chapter of the American Lighthouse Foundation is a non-profit organization made up of volunteer members whose mission is the restoration and preservation of Race Point Lighthouse, the Keeper’s House, the Whistle House, the Oil House, and Wood End and Long Point Lighthouses.

Call and make a reservation to stay at Race Point. You won’t be disappointed! Many amenities, meticulously restored. Surrounded by miles of unspoiled beach with panoramic views of the ocean. Room(s) are available in the Keeper’s House for 1 to 4 night stays. The Whistle House is available on a Saturday-to-Saturday basis, but is now offered for as few as two nights! You will need your own four-wheel drive vehicle and an National Park Service oversand permit in order to stay in the Whistle House.
