Ptown Bears organizes Bear Week Provincetown, an international gathering of gay men, friends and admirers held annually in mid-July. Bears celebrate hirsute style and embrace a diversity of sizes and age. Founded in 2001, Bear Week Provincetown today attracts 8,000 to 10,000 tourists over a 9 day and 9 night schedule hosted by Ptown Bears in collaboration with local hotels and nightclubs. LCAA transports almost 1000 patients each year to Cape Cod Hospital, responds to hundreds more local area rescue calls, has a staff of 20 full time paramedics and emt’s and owns and operates two advanced life support ambulances.
