How to Get Here

By Automobile

Provincetown is at the end of Route 6. From the south you can come through Providence Rte. 195; from the north or west Rte. 495 or through Boston by Rte. 3. All routes connect with Route 6. Driving time from Boston or Providence is almost two and a half hours, New York about seven hours.

Route 6

By Bus

Regular service from Boston, New York, Providence and Hyannis takes very little longer than driving. The bus drivers will gladly drop you off on the route in through Town. The bus enters Provincetown's East End, travels along Bradford Street to Standish Street, and on to the bus stop at the foot of MacMillan Pier, near the Chamber of Commerce office. Tickets are purchased on the bus. The Whale Watch Store at 309 Commercial Street in Provincetown is selling tickets. For more information, call 508 778-9767.


By Train (from New York to Providence)

Trolley (seasonal)

A 40-minute guided tour through the town and National Seashore is a must on this old-fashioned-style trolley. Embark outside Town Hall on Commercial Street. Buy your ticket on the trolley.

The Shuttle (seasonal)

Ride to Commercial Street shops & restaurants, to ferries to Boston & Plymouth, Fisherman's Wharf, MacMillan Wharf, Pilgrim Monument and Museum, whale watches, fishing and sailing ... You can use The Shuttle to visit Herring Cove Beach in the Cape Cod National Seashore. The same service also connects with North Truro and Beach Point. The Shuttle runs every 30 minutes, each way, 7 days a week. (check the Shuttle web site for more information)

Cape Air

Cape Air flies from Terminal C at Boston's Logan Airport direct to Provincetown Airport at Race Point. There are several flights a day in spring, winter and fall, more frequently in the summer.
