Community Development Partnership: Andrea Aldana Named President & CEO

Feb 27, 2026

I’m writing to share important and exciting news from CDP.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce that Andrea Aldana has been appointed as Community Development Partnership’s next President and Chief Executive Officer, effective March 29, 2026.

Andrea currently serves as CDP’s Chief Program Officer and has been a member of the CDP team since 2011. She has played a central role in CDP’s progress during her time with the organization. After a thoughtful search process, the Board selected Andrea for her deep commitment to CDP’s mission and her knowledge of the organization and the region, her collaborative leadership style, her clear vision, and her strong track record of advancing housing and economic opportunity across the Lower and Outer Cape.

Jay Coburn and Andrea Aldana after Aldana received CHAPA’s Community Engagement Award in June 2023 for her leadership in housing advocacy.

As Chief Program Officer since 2022, she has overseen our housing, small business, and community engagement programs. From 2017 to 2022, she led the Lower Cape Community Housing Partnership, strengthening local advocacy and capacity-building to support housing development, and assisted in securing a $1 million, five-year state grant to support our regional housing advocacy and planning work. Through these and related efforts, the Lower and Outer Cape region now has a housing development pipeline projected to produce more than 1,500 units over the next decade.

Andrea also brings strong statewide leadership experience and relationships to this role. She serves on the boards of the Citizens’ Housing & Planning Association (CHAPA) and the Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations (MACDC), as well as Clerk of Abundant Housing Massachusetts. Her perspective, commitment, and ability to build partnerships will help CDP continue to meet the region’s evolving needs with focus and momentum.

At the same time, this transition is an opportunity to express our profound gratitude to Jay Coburn, who is retiring after 13 years of extraordinary leadership. Jay has guided CDP through a period of remarkable growth—expanding housing development, strengthening support for local businesses, and elevating CDP’s role as a trusted regional leader. His service has made a lasting difference for the people and communities of the Lower and Outer Cape.

I also want to thank the members of our search committee, whose diligence, care, and commitment shaped a strong process grounded in listening. Their extensive stakeholder engagement helped ensure that this leadership transition reflects both CDP’s mission and the needs of the communities we serve.

CDP’s mission remains as urgent and important as ever: to ensure the Lower and Outer Cape remains a place where people can live, work, and thrive. The Board is confident that Andrea is the right leader for this next chapter in accelerating organizational growth and partner collaboration. We’re all excited about what lies ahead.

Thank you for your continued support of CDP.

With gratitude,

Carole Ridley, CDP Board Chair
