Join us for an extraordinary special performance as we travel back to the end of 1959 to an imaginary sound stage with a live audience for a radio program featuring an ON AIR light, the memorable welcome chime, radio announcer, popular songs of the era, commercials, radio sound effects and a stellar ensemble. The concert is a sequel to last year’s “The 1940s Radio Show… LIVE!” conceived by Paul Goddu.
This year’s radio show concert is a benefit for WOMR 92.1 + 91.3 FM. WOMR’s on-air programs – unmatched in diversity and including opera, punk, Motown, jazz, classical, Hindustani and Jamaican dance hall music, as well as talk programs exploring books, film, public health and housing – reach listeners from Provincetown to Plymouth on the FM dial. Cape Cod’s only community radio station plays an essential role in fostering local culture, providing an inclusive platform for all voices, and connecting people in the community. Fifty percent of all ticket sales will be donated to the station in appreciation for its nearly fifty years of involvement with and support for the communities of Cape Cod.
General admission is $30, limited priority seating $50, ages 17 and under free, senior discounts available. Tickets are available at WOMR.org. All concerts are handicapped accessible.
