By Air
Provincetown Municipal Airport is a public airport located at the tip of Cape Cod and ten minutes by car from Provincetown’s town center.
This airport is open year-round and is operated by the Town of Provincetown on land leased from the U.S.
Daily twenty minute flights from Boston provide link the Outer Cape to over sixty North American cities with connections at Boston’s Logan International.
Amenities include instrument and WAAS approaches, secure tie-downs, AWOS, and ground transportation. Parking, taxi, Shuttle stop (in season only), and Enterprise Car Rental.
By Sea
Located forty miles out to sea at the tip of Cape Cod, Provincetown Harbor is one of the world’s natural deep water harbors ~ a refuge for boats of all sizes, large and deep enough to welcome cruise ships. Provincetown has always taken its life from the sea, but it’s the harbor which has defined our history, our Portuguese heritage and reputation as a world class tourist destination.
MacMillan Pier is Cape Cod’s major transportation hub ~ Bay State Cruise Co., Boston Harbor City Cruises and Captain John Boats Fast Ferry bring tens of thousands of people to Provincetown and up Cape.
By Land
Boston to Provincetown 115 miles.
New York City to Provincetown 299 miles.
Provincetown is at the end of Route 6. From the south you can come through Providence Rte. 195; from the north or west Rte. 495 or through Boston by Rte. 3. All routes connect with Route 6.
Driving time from Boston or Providence is almost two hr and 15 min, New York about six hours.
There is a bus terminal is located in the center of Town at the foot of MacMillan Pier and Provincetown Marina. There are also Public Restrooms and on the corner of Lopes Square is Provincetown Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center.
The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA) provides public transportation to and from Provincetown to service our residents, workers, and visitors, with expanded early morning and late-night service to the Town of Provincetown. This is aimed at providing additional transportation options for Provincetown workers during the town’s expanded shoulder season and throughout the summer and also additional opportunities for residents and visitors to use CCRTA’s service.
