BREWSTER, MA (September 28, 2026) — Salt Air Broadcasting has announced an agreement to purchase the heritage radio stations of CCB Media (Cape Cod Broadcasting Media). The transaction makes Salt Air Broadcasting the largest radio group on Cape Cod, expanding its operation to four FM stations and one AM station with extended coverage reaching onto the South Shore. The official broadcast transition will take place on November 30, 2026, pending FCC approval, with corporate headquarters remaining in Brewster, MA.
Under the new ownership structure, Salt Air Broadcasting is doubling down on a hyper-local strategy centered on local ownership, local on-air talent, and deep community involvement. “We still strongly believe in the power of local radio, particularly here on Cape Cod where a dedicated, year-round population relies on local stations every day,” said Gary Hanna, Owner of Salt Air Broadcasting and long-time Brewster resident. “Our focus is entirely on serving this community—bringing back local voices, supporting local non-profits, and delivering exceptional programming.”
Through the acquisition Salt Air Broadcasting will add WQRC 99.9, WKPE 103.9 and WOCN 104.7 to its portfolio, which also includes WGTX 106.5 and 102.3, along with 1240 AM (the first licensed radio station on Cape Cod). Additionally, the group will launch a Classical HD channel operating under a non-profit model. Simultaneously, CapeCod.com will be transformed into the definitive digital hub for all things Cape Cod, offering comprehensive coverage of local news, food, dining, events, and tourism.
Rooted entirely in the community it serves, Salt Air Broadcasting is driven by a local ownership and executive team that lives and works right here on the Cape. Spearheaded by Owner and CEO Gary Hanna, a Brewster resident, the local leadership group also includes Jon Krongard of Brewster, Simon Bexon of Falmouth, and Jerry McKenna of Provincetown.
Salt Air Broadcasting is retaining CCB’s existing sales and back-office team while actively hiring additional sales personnel, ensuring a strong local footprint and the continuation of signature traditions, including the annual November food drives.
“After forty-eight years working with our talented people who had passion and commitment serving Cape Cod, it was important for us to sell to a local owner who shares our deep-rooted commitment to local radio, community involvement, and serving local programming to our listeners,” said Greg Bone, Owner of CCB Media. “In selling to Gary Hanna and Salt Air Broadcasting, we have found the best local home for our stations, CapeCod.com, and strong digital division and are confident our stations, listeners, and clients are in great hands for the next chapter.”
