Can you believe Pilgrim Bark Park opened 18 years ago?

Dear Parkgoers and Supporters,

Thank you all for your kind generosity, and for doing your part to keep Pilgrim Bark Park clean and safe by sweeping the hardscape, picking up after your dog (and sometimes others’), and letting us know when something needs attention. We very much appreciate your support!

Small Hands, Big Hearts:

In April, we received an email from Beatrix, an almost-6th grader, asking if she could sell dog treats and lemonade at the park and donate the proceeds to the park. Since we don’t allow food, we agreed on lemonade. This Sunday at 9:00, Bea and her mother set up a lemonade stand!

Jojo, a 9-year-old and almost 4th grader, came to the park last summer and painted small rocks with the faces of parkgoers’ dogs. This year, she’s back and is trying to keep up with the orders! Instead of accepting payment, she insists the person donate to Pilgrim Bark Park.

Together, the girls’ donations have exceeded $600.00—and they told us they want to continue contributing their time and talents! Those like Beatrix and Jojo remind us that generosity has no age requirement…and that community spirit is often offered by those with the smallest hands and biggest hearts.

Park Improvements This Year:

All the steel in the park has been painted to preserve the integrity of the material.
We regraded the pea gravel and sand in both sections of the park.
The gravel in the parking area has been replenished.
Plants that were encroaching on the park — and tempting dogs to nibble — have been removed.
Ethan Poulin and crew installed a 34′ x 10′ cement slab in the far west section. Now our benches sit level and won’t sink into the sand.

A new bench was bought and assembled (thank you, Pat!) for the new cement pad. Naming rights are available for a $1,000 donation. Anyone interested, please email us: provincetowndogpark@comcast.net.

A Reminder About Rules & Safety:

Because Provincetown is a resort town, many seasonal visitors may not be familiar with Pilgrim Bark Park’s rules and etiquette.

Please feel free to direct them to the posted regulations when needed. Or let them know about the helpful FAQs on our website.

If you ever feel threatened by a dog or an owner’s behavior, avoid confrontation and call our local police. Our rules are town by‑laws, and the police will enforce them.

About Our Funding…and Gratitude:

Pilgrim Bark Park is a privately funded community park. Aside from trash pickup, the Town does not contribute to its ongoing maintenance or improvements. We remain deeply grateful for the land they have generously allowed us to use as a designated dog park.

We’re happy to report our park brooms are now branded with our Pilgrim Bark Park logo! (Hopefully this will deter anyone thinking of walking off with another one!)
