ASGCC Announces Return of Beloved “A Night at the Chef’s Table” and Launches New Fundraiser “Restaurants for Recovery”

May 15, 2025

Provincetown, MA, May 14, 2025 – AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod (ASGCC) is excited to

announce the return of its cherished legacy event, “A Night at the Chef’s Table,” and introduce a new

community fundraising initiative, “Restaurants for Recovery.” Both events will take place on

Thursday, June 5th, 2025, celebrating the Cape’s culinary scene while raising crucial funds for

ASGCC’s essential community services.

“With unprecedented threats to federal funding for HIV and harm reduction services, this moment

demands collective action,” said Dan Gates, ASGCC President & CEO. “If you or someone you know

has been impacted by HIV, substance use, or has directly benefited from ASGCC’s services, your

support is needed now more than ever. Our events on June 5th offer an opportunity to dine with friends

while supporting ASGCC’s life-saving services.”

“A Night at the Chef’s Table” was created to support ASGCC during a time when HIV/AIDS

devastated the Provincetown and the Outer Cape communities, and its proceeds each year provide vital

funding for ASGCC’s free sexual health services. Continuing its tradition unchanged, participating

chefs across Provincetown and the Outer Cape will offer exclusive menus for an intimate evening of

fine dining and friendship. Guests can purchase seats at these unique culinary experiences for $175 per

person, with 100% of ticket proceeds directly supporting ASGCC’s sexual health programs and

services for individuals living with HIV.

Drawing from our long history of responding compassionately and effectively to public health crises—

from the height of the HIV epidemic to today’s devastating opioid epidemic—ASGCC now introduces

“Restaurants for Recovery.” This new event acknowledges the heartbreaking similarities between these

two public health crises, including the stigma and isolation faced by those impacted. Restaurants

participating in “Restaurants for Recovery” will donate 10%, 25%, 50% or even 100% of their total

food sales on June 5th to ASGCC’s overdose prevention and recovery services. These life-saving

services include free NARCAN distribution, overdose response training, fentanyl-testing services,

recovery support groups, and direct connections to treatment and medication.

“In the restaurant industry, like many other industries, we deal first-hand with the double impact of

substance abuse and mental health issues, so I am happy to step up and support ASGCC and

Restaurants for Recovery,” said Brandon Quesnell, Chef and Owner of Yolqueria and Mezze Ptown.

“We participated last year, and many new customers found us that day and stuck with us for the rest of

the season. This year we are increasing our donation rate to 100% of the food revenue that day.”

“Restaurants for Recovery transforms a simple act of dining out into a powerful stand against stigma,

isolation, and preventable deaths,” Gates added. “By joining us, restaurants across the Cape have the

unique opportunity to demonstrate solidarity and directly save lives at a critical moment when support

for these programs is threatened.”Restaurants interested in participating in “Restaurants for Recovery,” or those seeking additional

information, should contact Dan Gates at 508.487.9445, or email events@asgcc.org. Visit

asgcc.org/events to purchase tickets for “A Night at the Chef’s Table;” tickets will go on sale

Thursday, May 22nd at 12noon.
